Neil Sachdeva

Canadian Ambassador

Shamshir Foundation

Neil is a driven high school student with a strong passion for leadership, teamwork, and creating inclusive opportunities for others. As Captain of his Ontario Basketball League (OBL) team and a player for his high school basketball program, he has learned the importance of leading by example, motivating teammates, and fostering an environment where everyone can succeed. His team’s achievement of winning a Bronze Medal at the Provincial Basketball Finals reflects the dedication, resilience, and teamwork he values both on and off the court.

Beyond basketball, Neil has gained valuable experience as a Camp Counselor, where he worked closely with children to build confidence, encourage participation, and create positive experiences for young people from diverse backgrounds. These experiences have strengthened his belief in the power of sport and community engagement to inspire personal growth and connection.

As an Ambassador for the Shamshir Foundation’s Cricket Beyond Sight initiative, Neil is passionate about helping disabled children discover their potential through sport. He believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to participate, develop their talents, and feel valued. Through his involvement, he hopes to promote greater inclusion, confidence, and opportunity, ensuring that every child has the chance to experience the many benefits that sport can bring.

Ability is not defined by limitations — it is defined by determination.
